Our story starts with 212 Magazine, a biannual magazine based out of Istanbul, published and distributed internationally by 212 Studio. It contains short fiction and long-form reportage; distinctive photo essays and revealing interviews. Even though it was born in the city where east meets west (as the love-worn cliche goes), the magazine seeks to transcend the loaded dichotomies of Istanbul’s favourite metaphor, and extends its gaze far beyond the region.

Now, we are taking our passion for photography and cultural exchange one step further. 212 International Photography Festival is the first major photo event by 212 Studio in partnership with Leica Camera Turkey and bomontiada, aiming to bring together various artistic minds to showcase their talents.

The festival is a step towards building stronger communities – both local and international, by speaking the language of photography. In its inaugural exhibit, the festival will be looking at including a variety of aspects encompassing celebrated photographers of different nationalities, workshops and a welcoming competition.
