DETAILS

A workshop with Architectural Colour Consultant Oya Komar that offers a brand-new perspective on colours. You’ll be exposed to a wealth of new information and frameworks regarding colour. It’s important to learn the alphabet of colours in order to grasp the mathematics behind harmonious colours, just as it is necessary to define the language of colour in order to eliminate ‘colour pollution’.

Workshop participants get to witness the mechanisms by which colours that speak the same language come together, later using their newfound tips to lend colour to Istanbul!

How would you like to set off on a photographic journey of discovery along Istanbul’s Old City Walls from Edirnekapı to the Golden Horn? It’s hard to find, elsewhere in the city, a bird market set right beside a palace, the cemeteries beneath the City Walls, or a cultural wealth that harbours a church on just about every street. Take the opportunity to capture the surprises you’ll find around every corner before the district loses its identity.

An exploration with analogue camera amongst historical columns that are a part of Istanbul’s cultural heritage… The journey begins with the mysterious Column of Constantine, believed to house a treasure belonging to Jesus Christ, and continues along a route featuring the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Walled Obelisk and the Serpent Column. The final site on the route is the Column of the Goths, Istanbul’s oldest column housed amidst the century-old trees in Gülhane Park.
